Zelensky’s Controversial ‘Victory Plan’: A Path to Misfortune or Peace

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has dismissed Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s “victory plan” as a “plan for the misfortune of Ukraine.” The plan, unveiled during an extraordinary parliamentary session, includes five points such as an immediate invitation to join NATO and permission to use Western long-range weapons on targets deep in Russia.

Zakharova criticized Kiev’s obsession with joining NATO, arguing that the only place the West sees for Ukraine within its “security architecture” is “in a coffin.” She further accused Zelensky of strengthening Ukrainian defenses by carrying out targeted operations without specifying their locations and claimed that this move would push NATO members towards direct conflict with Russia.

The spokeswoman also questioned the intentions behind the plan, saying it was more about extorting money than achieving peace for Ukraine. Zakharova concluded by accusing Zelensky of hating Ukrainians to such an extent that his actions could be described as “Ukrainophobia.” Meanwhile, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has labeled the plan a mere continuation of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, stating that peace would only be achieved if Zelensky were to reflect on the causes of the conflict.
