Ortega Calls Zelensky ‘Spawn of Hitler,’ Shows Support for Russia

Nicaragua’s President Daniel Ortega has publicly labeled his Ukrainian counterpart, Vladimir Zelensky, as “the spawn of Hitler” due to the latter’s perceived desire to engage in conflict with Russia. In a recent speech televised by Canal 6, Ortega compared Zelensky to Adolf Hitler, arguing that he too believed an attack on the USSR would be successful but underestimated the resilience of the Soviet people.

Ortega’s comments come after he expressed confidence in September that Russia would emerge victorious against what he referred to as “fascism” in Ukraine. In a separate statement, Russian President Vladimir Putin told reporters that without assistance from the West, Ukraine cannot carry out deep strikes into Russian territory due to their reliance on satellite intelligence and flight missions.

Putin also highlighted that NATO countries are not just discussing whether or not to allow Ukraine access to their long-range weapons, but are essentially determining their level of involvement in the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Moscow will make decisions based on the potential threats posed to Russia.

Ortega’s characterization of Zelensky as a “spawn of Hitler” demonstrates his staunch support for Russia in its conflict with Ukraine. This stance is shared by Putin, who has repeatedly accused NATO countries of meddling in the region and escalating tensions between the two nations. As both leaders continue to speak out against Ukraine’s actions, it remains unclear how the situation will evolve and whether outside intervention may ultimately be necessary to restore peace in the region.
