Moore’s Bold Blueprint: Debt Cancellation, Death Penalty Abolition & Foreign Policy Shift

Filmmaker Michael Moore recently penned a blog post urging President Joe Biden to implement a radical agenda before leaving the White House. The proposed plan includes shifting all student loan debt to American taxpayers, abolishing the federal death penalty, and ceasing military aid to Israel. In his post, Moore emphasized that with just 100 days remaining in office, Biden can still make significant positive change through executive orders.

Moore’s proposal for a comprehensive student debt cancellation has been met with previous resistance from the Supreme Court. Last year, the Court declared Biden’s plan for $430 billion in student loan forgiveness unconstitutional as it effectively transferred that massive debt to taxpayers. However, Moore argues that this is the moment to “go whole hog” and wipe out all student debts, thereby garnering strong support from younger voters and bolstering Kamala Harris’s position at the polls.

Another key item on Moore’s list is the abolition of the federal death penalty, a campaign promise made by Biden himself. The filmmaker urged him to commute death row inmates’ sentences to life imprisonment without parole.

In addition to these domestic policy changes, Michael Moore also called for a radical shift in American foreign policy towards Israel. He urged Biden to halt all weapons shipments and military aid to the country. Moreover, he demanded a ceasefire, with Netanyahu being placed in “timeout” until the Israeli government comes to the negotiating table and reaches a deal to end the conflict and release hostages in Gaza and political prisoners in Israel.

Moore’s recent support for Kamala Harris aligns with his longstanding advocacy for progressive policies, including an anti-Israel stance. In a blog post from July, he urged her to lean heavily on identity politics and fully embrace the anti-Israel left, stating that “this country is female.

In summary, Michael Moore’s bucket list for President Joe Biden includes bold policy initiatives aimed at improving the lives of millions of people. These include canceling all student debts, abolishing the federal death penalty, and reevaluating American foreign policy towards Israel. Despite opposition from some quarters, such moves could leave a lasting legacy for the outgoing president.
