World Leaders Gather in Ashgabat for Peace & Development: Putin Meets Pezeshkian

Ashgabat, Turkmenistan – On October 11th, Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in the capital city of Ashgabat, where he is scheduled to take part in an international forum focusing on “Interrelation of Times and Civilizations-Basis of Peace and Development. In addition to his participation at this prestigious event, Putin will also be engaging in a meeting with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.

Over ten world leaders are expected to join the gathering, alongside heads of various international organizations such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Economic Cooperation Organization, the Organization of Turkic States, the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO.

During Putin’s meeting with Pezeshkian, the Russian leader plans to discuss bilateral issues and address the abruptly escalated situation in the Middle East. According to Presidential Aide Yury Ushakov, other bilateral contacts could also take place on the sidelines of the forum.
