Vice President Kamala Harris recently promised assistance to Lebanon while American citizens continue to struggle from Hurricane Helene. This act of providing aid to foreign nations has raised concerns, particularly in light of the fact that Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas stated last week that FEMA does not have sufficient funds to cover hurricane relief efforts for the remainder of the season.
House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-MN) criticized Harris’ commitment to Lebanon, claiming she is “not ready for prime time” and highlighting her failure to address the needs of American citizens following Hurricane Helene. The Vice President’s recent remarks, which promised nearly $157 million in additional assistance to Lebanon, drew criticism from Emmer as he pointed out that such funding could be better allocated towards supporting American citizens who are currently struggling to recover from natural disasters.
Emmer also accused Harris of lacking intellectual ability and being unable to effectively lead the United States through difficult times. He further argued that her lack of preparedness for the role of Vice President, along with a series of failed policies during the past three and a half years, would ultimately result in President Donald Trump’s re-election within the next month.
The congressman expressed concern about the current administration’s handling of various issues, including inflation, open borders, and wildfires. He argued that Harris’ recent tweet regarding support for Lebanon exemplified her lack of understanding of the gravity of these problems, and suggested that a change in leadership is needed to better address such pressing concerns.
