Anti-Israel Protests Turn Violent: Richman Attacked for Supporting Israel

On Monday, pro-terror protests were held in New York City to commemorate the October 7 attack. At Columbia University, demonstrators showed support for Hamas, and their actions garnered attention on social media platforms like Twitter. A group of protesters even called for Tel Aviv, Israel’s progressive metropolis, to be destroyed.

Todd Richman, co-chair of Democratic Majority for Israel, was present at the protest as a counter-protester advocating for pro-Israel policies within the Democratic Party. Unfortunately, he fell victim to violence when he was attacked and had his Israeli flag stolen by protesters while they filmed the assault.

The New York Post reported on this incident, which occurred as thousands of people gathered in Manhattan to protest on the anniversary of the October 7 terror attack on Israel. Richman was seen on social media holding an Israeli flag while a mob of protesters mocked him and tried to take away the flag. The video captures Richman desperately trying to stand his ground against the increasingly hostile crowd.

Recent polls indicate that Democrats have become more anti-Israel in recent years, even before the terror attacks on October 7 brought the issue of antisemitism within the Democratic Party into the limelight. Notably, many of Vice President Kamala Harris’ key advisers are known to be anti-Israel as well.
