Vice President Kamala Harris Under Fire for Hollywood Fundraiser Amid Hurricane Helene Crisis

The backlash against Vice President Kamala Harris’ response to Hurricane Helene continues to grow, with prominent media figures criticizing her for attending a Hollywood fundraiser as devastation from the storm swept across the southeastern United States. The latest public figure to call out the vice president is former Fox News host Megyn Kelly, who expressed her disapproval on her show Monday night.

Kelly highlighted how Kamala Harris attended a fundraiser in Los Angeles on Sunday afternoon, where she was seen mingling with celebrities such as Demi Lovato and Jessica Alba, as well as studio executives. The vice president’s choice to continue attending events and socializing as the natural disaster unfolded has drawn criticism from various sources, who question her priorities during a crisis situation.

The fundraiser menu reportedly included Beef Wellington, lobster rolls, and duck egg rolls. In attendance were other stars including Alanis Morissette, Stevie Wonder, Lily Tomlin, and Sterling K. Hayden. Universal boss Donna Langley and former Disney CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg, who is now one of Kamala Harris’ primary fundraisers, were also present at the event.

Meanwhile, Hurricane Helene has resulted in over 130 fatalities, with hundreds more still missing in what is being described as the worst natural disaster to hit western North Carolina and parts of Georgia in decades. In response to the crisis, former President Donald Trump visited Georgia on Monday, bringing much-needed relief supplies and gasoline to areas affected by the storm.

In an attempt to quell the growing controversy, Kamala Harris cut short her fundraising tour on Monday and returned to Washington, D.C. However, her delayed response to the unfolding disaster is proving to be a significant embarrassment for her presidential campaign in the final weeks of the election cycle. Critics argue that this incident reinforces the prevailing sentiment that she lacks the ability to handle the pressures of the presidency.
