Texas Governor Greg Abbott recently spoke to Breitbart Texas about the issue of the U.S.-Mexico border, expressing his belief that American voters will not be deceived by Vice President Kamala Harris’ sudden interest in the matter. As part of her visit to the border near Douglas, Arizona, on Friday, Harris is expected to make a statement concerning her future policies related to border security and illegal immigration.
In an exclusive interview with Breitbart, Governor Abbott criticized the Biden-Harris administration for eliminating the policies that President Trump had put into place, which led to a more secure border. He argued that the only thing the current administration needed to do was maintain those policies in order to avoid the surge of illegal immigration being experienced under Joe Biden’s leadership.
Governor Abbott also highlighted Harris’ past statements on the issue, pointing out her opposition to criminalizing crossing the border illegally and using ICE to enforce violations of immigration laws. Additionally, he noted that she had previously advocated for providing free health care to people entering the country unlawfully, which could create further incentives for illegal immigration.
As bad as illegal immigration has been under Joe Biden, Kamala Harris’ policies are even worse than Joe Biden’s policies,” Governor Abbott concluded. And if she’s elected president, it will destroy our country.
