Behind Bars with Joy & Wanda? Comedians Fear a Trumpian Reign

In a recent episode of ABC’s The View, co-host Joy Behar shared her concern that former President Donald Trump might target comedians like herself if he is re-elected. Fellow comedian and guest Wanda Sykes chimed in, agreeing that it could potentially happen, as she believes Trump has aspirations to become a dictator.

During the show, Behar asked Sykes how she feels about the possibility of Trump going after comedians who make jokes about him. In response, Sykes jokingly suggested they might share a jail cell together if that were to happen. However, Behar did not find the joke amusing and responded by saying “I don’t think so.

Sykes continued, “It’s ridiculous. I mean, it is. I know you’re making a joke about it, but it could really happen. He could.” This sentiment was echoed by comedienne Kathy Griffin in recent comments, where she claimed Trump would target comedians one by one if he gets re-elected. Griffin stated that Trump will focus solely on comedians who criticize him, such as Jimmy Kimmel, Jon Stewart, and Rosie O’Donnell.

Joy Behar has been vocal about her disdain for Trump and his supporters, even going so far as to label them Nazis. In January, she claimed that Trump would cancel The View if he were re-elected in November. This latest exchange between Behar and Sykes demonstrates the ongoing concern among comedians who have made a career out of criticizing the former president.
