Rising Arab-American Support for Trump: A Shift Towards Peace

Arab Americans are moving toward former President Donald Trump because he is promising “peace,” Ric Grenell, former acting Director of National Intelligence and a top Trump ally, said during an appearance on Breitbart News Saturday. Host Matthew Boyle cited a poll showing that 30 percent of Muslim voters are going to back Trump in this election over Vice President Kamala Harris.

Boyle noted that this represents an increase of at least seven percent since the 2020 election, when Trump garnered approximately 23 percent of the Muslim vote. He explained that this shift has evolved into the “abandon Harris movement.” Grenell provided his perspective on why Arab Americans are gravitating toward Trump, recalling his reasons for joining the Trump team in 2016 after working for eight years in the Bush administration and at the U.N.’s Security Council.

During that time, he observed neocon ideas failing and watched as the U.S. lost money, treasure, and blood due to its involvement in wars and regime change efforts. Grenell praised Trump for calling out this flawed strategy during the 2016 Republican primary and having the courage to propose a different approach. He highlighted how Trump successfully navigated international relations without starting any new wars, emphasizing that Arab-Israeli peace agreements were a key accomplishment under his administration.

Grenell also lauded Trump’s strategy of imposing sanctions on Iran, which prevented them from funding proxy wars and nuclear weapons programs. In contrast, he criticized President Biden and Vice President Harris for dropping these sanctions, thereby enabling Iran to fund groups like the Houthis, Hamas, and Hezbollah to create chaos in the region.

The discussion concluded with Grenell expressing frustration at the lack of a clear peace plan from the current administration and calling for stronger diplomacy efforts to resolve conflicts and prevent further warfare.
