Trump Weighs In on Harris Campaign Woes, Defends First-In-The-Nation Primary

Former President Donald Trump commented on the challenges faced by Kamala Harris’ campaign in New Hampshire during a Truth Social post on Tuesday. He mentioned that she disrespected the state during their primary and failed to show up, which could cause problems for her campaign. Additionally, he pointed out that New Hampshire has some of the highest costs of living, energy bills, and housing market prices in the country. Trump claimed to have protected New Hampshire’s First-In-The-Nation Primary and promised to continue doing so.

This remark came after a Boston Globe report revealing an email from a former Trump campaign volunteer in Massachusetts, Tom Mountain. The email stated that the campaign had determined New Hampshire was no longer a battleground state. However, Trump campaign national spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt clarified this information to Newsweek, saying that it is not true and President Trump’s campaign continues to maintain an active presence in New Hampshire with staff and offices.

Leavitt expressed optimism about the momentum the Trump campaign has gained since the primary and looks forward to securing New Hampshire’s four electoral votes for the president on November 5th. The Trump campaign also stressed that Mountain was simply a volunteer and therefore did not have access to the actual campaign plans.

In the past, Trump lost New Hampshire by .4 percent in 2016 and by 7.4 percent in 2020. In fact, since 2000, New Hampshire has not voted red in any presidential election.
