Jon Voight: How Reagan’s Faith Defeated Communism & Can Save America Again

Oscar-winning actor Jon Voight believes that President Ronald Reagan’s faith was instrumental in his successful battle against communism, which is threatening America once again. In an interview with The Christian Post, Voight credited Reagan’s unwavering faith instilled by his mother Nelle and childhood pastor for enabling him to distinguish right from wrong when dealing with the menace of communism.

As a veteran actor, Voight plays former KGB agent Viktor Petrovich in the 2024 film “Reagan.” He warns that the insidious ideology of communism has now found its way into the United States. The Russian people suffered under it, and now we’re being attacked by those same values,” Voight said, referring to the current threat of communism in America.

He gave them hope and new life,” Voight said, emphasizing that Reagan’s actions were a blessing for the Russian people.

However, the actor lamented that Americans are now grappling with the same ideologies that plagued Russia under communist rule. It’s taken root in our country, and we have to stand up and return to the proper principles,” Voight explained. He added that maybe Ronald Reagan serves as a reminder of what the nation needs to do.

In a broader discussion about his faith, Voight revealed that he was raised Catholic but strayed from it for some time, making several bad mistakes in the process. However, he experienced a wake-up call that helped him realize the importance of God in his life. I know that God is real, and I know that our whole lives are only meaningful in relation to God,” Voight said.

The actor acknowledged the guidance provided by Jesus Christ and emphasized the hope it brings for people to improve themselves. He encouraged others to identify themselves as a piece of God, stating that doing so can change one’s life for the better.
