Fetterman Condemns Hamas’ Humanitarian Catastrophe: Unwavering Support for Israel

Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) expressed his unwavering support for Israel following the grim discovery of six hostages’ bodies in a tunnel underneath Gaza. The senator took to Twitter and attributed responsibility for the “entire humanitarian catastrophe” to Hamas. His statement came shortly after it was revealed that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) had identified the deceased hostages as Eden Yrushalmi, Carmel Gat, Hersh Goldberg-Polin, Alexander Lobanov, Almog Sarusi, and Master Sergeant Orio Danino. The autopsy reports indicated that all six victims were shot in the head within the last 48 hours.

In his tweet, Sen. Fetterman named the hostages – Hersh Goldberg-Polin, Carmel Gat, Eden Yerushalmi, Alexander Lobanov, Almog Sarusi, and Ori Danino – while highlighting that their suffering was inflicted on October 7th. He emphasized that “Hamas owns this entire humanitarian catastrophe,” reiterating his unwavering support for Israel.

Ynet News reported that the bodies of the six victims were found with gunshot wounds to their heads and other areas, but there was no evidence of torture except for one hostage who showed signs of being bound. The autopsies revealed that the victims were executed within 48 hours before being discovered, and their bodies displayed indications of neglect during captivity. Furthermore, they exhibited signs of injuries sustained during their abduction that had been treated over time.

Since Hamas’s attack on Israel on October 7th, which led to the tragic deaths of 1,200 people and left more than 250 hostages in Hamas’s hands, Sen. Fetterman has consistently defended Israel and placed blame for the deaths of Palestinian civilians on Hamas. He asserts that Israel has made significant efforts to minimize civilian casualties during this time.
