Harris Doubles Down on Israel Defense, Rejects Supplying Arms Change

Democrat presidential nominee Kamala Harris made it clear she would not change policy regarding supplying arms and weaponry to Israel in its war against Hamas when questioned by CNN’s Dana Bash. The vice president made the statement during her first sit-down interview, over a month after becoming the presumptive Democrat nominee.

When asked if she would do anything differently compared to President Biden’s unsuccessful attempts to end the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, Harris said: “Let me be very clear. I’m unequivocal and unwavering in my commitment to Israel’s defense and its ability to defend itself, and that’s not going to change.” However, she did not offer a clear plan to end the war.

Harris emphasized the importance of reaching a deal to end the war and discussed previous incidents when innocent people were killed in the conflict. She said, “how it does so matters.” She added that many innocent Palestinians had been killed and that they must get a deal done to end this war, release hostages, and establish a ceasefire.

When pressed again about potentially withholding arms from Israel, Harris responded with a simple “no,” reinforcing her commitment to working toward a two-state solution where both Israel and Palestine have security and self-determination. Her response came after more than half a million Democrat primary voters protested the Biden-Harris administration’s handling of the Israel-Hamas war, demanding a ceasefire and a radical policy change.

The national pro-Palestinian group Abandon Biden announced its plans to work towards ensuring Harris loses the election in November due to her support for Israeli actions in the conflict with Hamas. The group’s mission is now focused on exposing and opposing Kamala Harris and her complicity in genocide.
