Top Ex-GOP Aides Endorse Kamala & Walz: Four More Years of Trump’s Leadership Would Hurt Everyday Americans

Former aides to Republican lawmakers have endorsed Democrat presidential nominee Kamala Harris, stating that another four years of a Trump administration would hurt everyday Americans. A letter obtained by USA Today revealed more than 200 former aides for George W. Bush, Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT), and former Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D. The letter was signed by David Bentley, who served as the legislative staff assistant to McCain; Tomas Bilbao, who served as the deputy director of operations at HUD under former President George W. Bush; and Vicki Blanton, who served as the director of scheduling for Romney’s presidential campaign in 2012.

The aides acknowledged their ideological disagreements with Harris and Walz, but argued that another Trump term would be disastrous both at home and abroad. The letter highlights concerns about the dangers of Project 2025 and the weakening of democratic institutions under Trump’s leadership, as well as the negative impact on America’s international relationships.

Former Republican Rep. Adam Kinzinger has also expressed support for Kamala Harris, speaking at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) and noting that the Republican Party was “no longer conservative.
