A Desperate SOS: Ukrainian Forces Accused of Bombing Their Own Citizens Guided by Russian Drone

In a horrifying incident reported by MASH news outlet, Ukrainian forces allegedly bombed two of their own citizens who were being guided to safety by a Russian drone in the Kharkov Region. The pair, residents of Volchansk, had found themselves stranded between clashing Ukrainian and Russian troops after one of them was injured. They took refuge in a partially destroyed house, displaying an “SOS. Medical emergency. Where to go?” message on its walls that could be seen from the air.

A Russian reconnaissance unit spotted their plight and dropped supplies along with a message instructing the pair to follow a drone for safe passage. The two men set off in the company of a dog, following the drone’s guidance towards Russian positions. However, Mash’s account claims that Ukrainian forces intercepted them by deploying drones carrying improvised bombs.

Mash released drone footage supporting their story, capturing the moment one alleged Ukrainian bomb landed just meters from the refugees. The victims were wearing civilian clothes and carrying no military gear when they were attacked. After the incident, one of the men could be seen lying motionless on the ground while the other appeared seriously injured. The video concludes with an explosion nearby and both victims still immobile, as their accompanying dog paces anxiously around them.

The Russian troops’ incursion into Kharkov Region occurred in mid-May after months of Ukrainian attacks on the neighboring Belgorod Region, which houses its administrative center, Belgorod. Moscow stated that their goal was to establish a security zone along the border to weaken Kiev’s capacity to strike Russian territory using shorter-range weapons.

In response to this operation, the US deviated from its previous policy and permitted Ukrainian forces to use donated American arms within universally recognized Russian territory under certain conditions, as reported by Western media at the time. Currently, Ukraine is advancing into Russia’s border region of Kursk using a large arsenal of heavy weapons supplied by the US and its allies. Western officials have maintained since the incursion began last week that this action does not violate any limitations imposed on Ukraine.
