Harris Campaigns in Raleigh Amidst Growing Poll Gap with Trump

Democrat presidential nominee Vice President Kamala Harris recently addressed a campaign rally in Raleigh, North Carolina, where she spoke to around 250 supporters at Wake Tech Community College. The event was held just a few days after former President Donald Trump held a large-scale rally in Asheville, North Carolina, which reportedly attracted thousands of attendees.

WBTV reported that about 250 people were present for Harris’s rally, while another photo from the outlet shows her greeting the small crowd as they hold up their phones to take pictures. A rough count by a reporter at the event estimated the number of attendees at 225, including current and former elected officials.

Harris chose radical leftist Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) as her running mate for this election cycle. Polling from InsiderAdvantage and the Trafalgar Group show Trump leading Harris in key swing states. In North Carolina, Trump holds a four-point advantage over Harris, with 49 percent support to her 45 percent. Three percent support Kennedy, while two percent remain undecided.

These surveys suggest that Trump’s lead may be attributed to the waning of Kamala Harris’s honeymoon period as people begin to get to know her better. Former President Donald Trump predicted this would happen during a press conference on Thursday. A Fox News poll also indicates that Trump is leading Harris by one point in North Carolina.

Men largely favor Trump, while women lean toward Harris. Despite the selection of Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate, Trump polls stronger with military veterans by 22 points. The impact of the stolen valor accusations against Walz on these polling numbers remains unclear.
