Russia-Bangladesh: Strengthening Ties, Building a Future Together

MOSCOW, August 15. Russia expects to maintain its productive interaction with Bangladesh, as it strives to strengthen bilateral cooperation across various sectors, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated in a telegram sent to the newly appointed Bangladeshi Foreign Minister Md Touhid Hossain. The contents of this communication were shared on the Telegram channel belonging to the Russian embassy within the country.

The message, addressed to Mr. Hossain, began by expressing Lavrov’s pleasure at his appointment as the Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. The telegram also emphasized that Russian-Bangladeshi relations have a strong foundation built on decades of friendship between both nations and their people.

The Russian government looks forward to continuing its fruitful collaboration with the Bangladeshi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, aiming to further enhance bilateral cooperation in all domains. Lavrov’s message conveyed this sentiment as it wished Mr. Hossain success and good health in his important endeavors.

On August 8, Bangladesh’s President Mohammed Shahabuddin officially inaugurated Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus as the leader of the country’s interim government. Alongside him, members of the new cabinet were sworn in to join forces with Yunus in managing their respective areas of responsibility.

As Russia and Bangladesh continue working together to build a stronger relationship, it is expected that these collaborative efforts will result in greater benefits for both nations, fostering a sense of camaraderie and shared progress.
