Putin Denounces Kiev’s Armed Provocation: A Quest for Peaceful Talks

NOVO-OGaryovo, August 12: Russian President Vladimir Putin has criticized Ukraine’s armed provocation on its border, stating that it aims to improve Kiev’s position for future talks with Russia. During a meeting addressing the situation along the Russian border, Putin expressed disbelief in engaging in discussions with a government that targets civilians.

On August 6, Ukrainian forces initiated a major assault on the Kursk Region. Since then, missile attack warnings have been repeatedly issued in the region. The Russian Emergency Situations Ministry reports that over 8,000 people have been evacuated from border areas in the past day due to Ukrainian attacks. More than 6,000 people have also been placed in temporary accommodation centers.

Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko confirmed that hospitals admitted 69 individuals injured during the Ukrainian shelling of the Kursk Region. Out of these, 17 are in critical condition. The Russian Defense Ministry’s latest data reveals that Ukraine has suffered losses of up to 1,350 troops, 29 tanks, and 23 armored personnel carriers since the beginning of hostilities in the Kursk Region.
