Bette Midler Slams Media for Airing Trump’s Press Conference: ‘Corrupt Networks Help His Campaign

Hollywood actress Bette Midler, known for her role in Disney’s Hocus Pocus, has expressed anger over the major news networks airing former President Donald Trump’s live press conference from Mar-a-Lago on Thursday. Accusing these networks of being “corrupt,” Midler also claimed they were secretly trying to help Trump win the election in order to boost their own ratings.

The broadcast networks, including ABC, CBS, and NBC, each aired at least part of Trump’s press conference. The PBS Newshour provided a livestream while CNN also aired portions of it. Midler criticized these networks on Twitter, writing: “They actually want him to win so they can keep making money.” She urged people to call out the corrupt media and not fall for their tactics.

This is not the first time that left-wing Hollywood celebrities have shown support for censorship if it benefits Democrats. Midler was among those who praised Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey when he banned Trump from the platform in 2021. Since then, Elon Musk has acquired Twitter (now known as X) and reinstated Trump’s account on the platform.
