Clinton Endorses Harris: Prosecuting the Path to Presidency

Former first lady and twice failed Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton recently lauded Vice President Kamala Harris as a “brilliant prosecutor” on her Facebook page. This endorsement came after President Joe Biden announced that he was ending his reelection campaign and endorsing Harris for president in the 2024 election.

In her Facebook post, Clinton began by stating that she has known Kamala Harris for a long time and that the vice president’s background as a prosecutor would make her an effective candidate to take on former President Donald Trump and his Project 2025 agenda, which aims to erode people’s freedoms.

Clinton then urged her Facebook followers to join Harris’s presidential campaign. With regards to Project 2025, President Trump responded to allegations of his involvement by stating that he has “nothing to do with them” and has “no idea who is behind it.

Hillary Clinton’s praise of Kamala Harris as a prosecutor was in reference to the lawfare former President Trump has faced this year ahead of the assassination attempt against him on July 13. However, not everyone sees Harris’s record as a prosecutor in a positive light. During the 2020 Democrat primary debates, then-Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) expressed her concerns about Harris’ desire to become a “prosecutor president.

Gabbard noted that while Harris was proud of her record as a prosecutor, she put over 1,500 people in jail for marijuana violations and blocked evidence that would have freed an innocent man from death row. Additionally, Gabbard claimed that Harris kept people in prison beyond their sentences to use them as cheap labor and fought to keep a cash bail system in place.

As the 2024 election cycle approaches, it remains to be seen how Kamala Harris’s record as a prosecutor will affect her campaign for the presidency.
