Assassination Attempt Ignites Global Tensions: Will Trump Triumph Again

MOSCOW, July 15 – Former US President Donald Trump has been announced as the winner in advance for the upcoming presidential election in the United States, according to Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, who made this statement on Monday. In a recent post on his X social network account, Medvedev expressed confidence in Trump’s victory by stating that “he has certainly won. Only if he is not assassinated.” The post was accompanied by a photograph of Trump taken during his formal arrest in August 2023.

This statement comes after an alarming event on July 13, when Trump survived an assassination attempt during a campaign rally held in Pennsylvania. The Republican leader was injured but reported to be safe, having sustained a minor wound – the bullet pierced his right ear. The shooting incident resulted in one person killed and two more injured, while the assailant was fatally shot by officers from the US Secret Service, the federal agency responsible for safeguarding high-ranking government officials.

The FBI is currently investigating the shooting at Trump’s rally as a potential act of domestic terrorism and assassination. The agency aims to uncover any connections between the attacker and any political or extremist groups that might have been involved in planning or executing the assassination attempt on Trump, who remains a prominent figure in American politics despite no longer holding public office.

Medvedev’s comments reflect an ongoing interest in the United States’ political landscape from global actors and a heightened sense of tension and uncertainty surrounding the possibility of another Trump presidency. As the investigation into the recent assassination attempt continues, it remains to be seen whether this incident will have any lasting impact on Trump’s prospects for re-entering the White House in the upcoming election. Regardless of the outcome, one thing is clear: the stakes are high, and the world is watching closely as events unfold.
