Elon Musk, the Tesla CEO and owner of X Corporation, officially endorsed former President Donald Trump on Saturday evening, shortly after an apparent shooting incident during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. In response to a video of the event, which showed Trump surrounded by Secret Service agents with blood coming down his face, Musk wrote: “I fully endorse President Trump and hope for his rapid recovery.
The video captured Trump showing Americans that he is still alive, as he defiantly fist-pumps the air while being attended to by Secret Service agents. Crowd members are seen standing and cheering for the former president before he is escorted off stage in a huddle of security personnel.
A detailed examination of the video, which Breitbart News is working on cutting up more clearly, reveals that as the sound of gunshots rings out, Trump had just turned his head. He then grabs his ear and drops below the podium, prompting Secret Service agents to rush the stage to his side. The agents can be heard saying “shooter is down” seconds later before they stand Trump up to walk him out.
In a post to X Corporation’s social media account, Secret Service Spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi confirmed that protective measures had been implemented and that the former president was safe. He also stated that this was an active Secret Service investigation and further information would be released when available.
Musk also posted a photo of Trump to X Corporation’s social media account with no caption, showing the bloody president raising his fist high in the air. The tech billionaire further commented: “Last time America had a candidate this tough was Theodore Roosevelt.
Until now, Musk had refrained from endorsing any candidates in the November presidential election, referring to both Trump and President Joe Biden as “talking puppets” after the first presidential debate in June. However, in July, it was reported that Musk had come off the sidelines and donated a portion of his immense fortune to a pro-Trump Super PAC in an attempt to help re-elect Trump. This move came amid increasing criticism from Musk about President Biden and his administration’s policies.
