Title: “Rising above adversity: Trump’s Nomination Proceeds After Shooting Scare at Campaign Rally

Former President Donald Trump confirmed via Twitter that he was “doing well” after being shot at his campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. The Republican National Committee (RNC) and the Trump campaign issued a statement confirming Trump’s condition and stating their intention to proceed with the Republican National Convention next week, where Trump will be nominated as the presidential candidate.

Michael Whatley, chairman of the RNC; Lara Trump, co-chairman of the RNC; Susie Wiles and Chris LaCivita, senior advisers for Donald J. Trump for President 2024, jointly declared that the party would “proceed” with the convention set to take place in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, between July 15 and July 18.

In their statement, Whatley and Trump said: “As was communicated earlier this evening, President Trump is doing well and grateful to law enforcement and first responders for their fast action.” They further announced that the president looks forward to joining everyone in Milwaukee as they proceed with the convention to nominate him as the 47th President of the United States.

The joint statement comes after gunshots were heard at Trump’s rally earlier, causing panic among attendees. Blood was visible on Trump’s ear and face following the incident. In a post on Truth Social, Trump revealed that he had been “shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part” of his “right ear.” Despite the unfortunate event, the RNC and the Trump campaign remain resolute in their commitment to move forward with the convention and nominate Trump as the Republican presidential candidate.
