Post-debate Survey Reveals Swing State Voters Prefer Trump Over Biden in Mental Fitness and Health.
A recent survey conducted by Morning Consult examined the sentiments of voters in key swing states, such as Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. The findings revealed that a significant number of respondents believe former President Donald Trump is mentally fit and in good health when compared to current President Joe Biden.
According to the survey, 44 percent of swing state voters described Biden as “too old,” while 41 percent said the same for Trump. However, when asked which candidate they believed was more “mentally fit,” only 23 percent attributed this characteristic to Biden compared to 45 percent who thought it applied to Trump. This represents a three-point dip for Biden and a two-point increase for Trump since February’s results.
In terms of health, the survey found that just 15 percent of swing state voters described Biden as someone with “good health,” which is down from 19 percent in February. On the other hand, nearly half (48 percent) described Trump as a candidate in good health, up from 45 percent in February. Nearly one-third of respondents said “neither,” and six percent said “both.
The survey was conducted from July 1-5, 2024, among more than 4,000 registered voters in key swing states, with a margin of error of +/- 5 percent. It comes as President Joe Biden faces widespread calls to withdraw from the presidential race after his lackluster debate performance.
Despite pressure from within his own party, Biden has made it clear that he is not stepping down. In a recent letter to concerned congressional Democrats, he emphasized his belief in his ability to defeat Donald Trump and urged unity within the Democratic Party. Biden also appeared on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, where he reiterated his decision to remain in the race, stating, “We’re not going anywhere.
