Trump’s Campaign Surge: Democrats Grow Concerned Amid Election Swing

With less than three weeks left until Election Day, momentum is shifting in favor of former President Donald Trump, according to a report by the Hill’s senior correspondent Amie Parnes. This development suggests that Trump’s campaign may be peaking at just the right time as the electorate fully engages and many swing state voters cast their ballots.

Parnes cites recent polling data to support her claim: in the past two weeks, there has been a slight trend towards Trump in some battleground states. For instance, Vice President Kamala Harris’s lead over Trump in Wisconsin has diminished from two points to a tie. In Michigan, she went from leading by one point to Trump now holding a one-point advantage. Similarly, in Pennsylvania, Harris has shifted from leading Trump by a single point to being in a dead heat with him.

These changes have not gone unnoticed among Democrats and some establishment media outlets. NBC’s Steve Kornacki explained the shift on the Today show this week, noting that “Harris was above water. That’s completely reversed. It now looks similar to Trump’s. That’s a pretty big shift when you’re talking about a race this close.

A Democratic strategist expressed concern over these developments: “We should be on an upward trajectory,” they told the Hill. That’s the sign of a campaign that’s on its way to winning. The fact that we’re not is troublesome to say the least.” Another Democrat strategist went further, calling this situation “terrifying” with less than three weeks to go before Election Day.

However, the Harris campaign does not appear to be panicking about Trump’s momentum. David Plouffe, a senior adviser to Harris, dismissed the significance of recent polling data in an interview with far-left Pod Save America. I spend very little time looking at them,” he said. Any point that shows Kamala Harris up 4 to 5 points in one of these seven states, ignore it. Any point that shows Donald Trump up like that, ignore it.” Plouffe argues that the race is too close to call and emphasizes the importance of every vote.

RealClearPolitics polling averages do indicate a slight lead for Trump, but Republicans caution that there are still significant challenges for their candidate. These include administrative state interference, media bias, Democratic swing state governors, and support from the Obama-Clinton worlds. GOP strategist Alex DeGrasse called on every patriot to volunteer in support of President Trump, emphasizing the need for election integrity and protection of legal votes.
