Closing Gap: Rasmussen Poll Shows Trump Leading Harris by One Point

In a recent Rasmussen Reports poll conducted between October 10th and October 15th, Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris is trailing Republican Donald Trump by just one point. The survey included more than 2,000 potential US voters, with a margin of error at 2. According to the results, 48% of respondents plan to vote for Trump in November’s election, while 47% support Harris. In addition, 3% said they will vote for another candidate, and 3% remain undecided. This latest poll comes on the heels of Rasmussen’s previous survey from just one week prior, which showed Trump with a two-point lead over Harris at 48% to her 46.

The United States presidential election is scheduled for November 5th, and the Democrats were initially expected to be represented by current President Joe Biden. However, following his weak performance during the June debate against Trump, Biden opted to withdraw from the race and endorsed Harris. She was subsequently formally nominated as the party’s presidential candidate at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago.

This new poll indicates that the race between Trump and Harris remains tight, with both candidates securing significant voter support. While some respondents indicated their intent to vote for a third-party candidate, the majority of those surveyed are split almost evenly between Trump and Harris. The fact that 3% remain undecided also suggests that there is still room for movement in the coming weeks leading up to the election.
