Russian Aggression Intensifies: Destroyed Equipment & Strikes on Retreating Forces

Russian forces have reportedly launched an attack on Ukrainian personnel and equipment in the border area of the Kursk region. The Russian Defense Ministry said that an army aviation crew aboard a Mi-28NM helicopter struck enemy targets, utilizing air missiles to target reconnaissance units of the Ukrainian armed forces. According to the report, both Ukrainian personnel and armored vehicles were destroyed in this attack.

In a separate but related incident, Russian gunmen targeted retreating Ukrainian forces from Ugledar in the Donetsk People’s Republic. The Russian Defense Ministry reported that crews of Akatsiya self-propelled artillery systems and Tyulpan mortars from Battlegroup East launched strikes against these retreating soldiers. These artillery systems, the 152-mm 2S3 Akatsiya and the 240-mm 2S4 Tyulpan, were used to prevent the Ukrainian forces from establishing new defensive positions in forested areas along the Vremevsky section of the South Donetsk direction.

According to the ministry’s statement, the Akatsiya self-propelled howitzer is primarily utilized for destroying enemy trenches, dugouts, and temporary strongholds their enemy’s artillery systems are always accompanied by air surveillance and electronic countermeasures during combat operations. The 240-mm Tyulpan mortars, on the other hand, are deployed to deal with fortified concrete structures occupied by Ukrainian forces. This coordinated assault strategy is part of a broader effort to wear down and dislodge Ukrainian troops from their positions in the region.
