Vice President’s Fortune Cookie Faith Speech Leaves Audience Perplexed

Vice President Kamala Harris recently faced criticism for her speech during a church service at Koinonia Christian Center in Greenville, North Carolina, where she discussed having faith “in times of crisis.” Delivering a somewhat tangled word salad to the audience, many attendees and social media users were left perplexed by what they heard.

Speaking about faith and its significance during difficult times such as natural disasters like Hurricane Helene that hit communities in western North Carolina, southwestern Virginia, Georgia, and eastern Tennessee, Harris stated: “In times of crisis, and we’re looking at the images of the aftermath of the hurricane, but, it is easy in these moments of crisis to sometimes question our faith. To sometimes lose our faith for a moment—because what we see is so hard to see that we lose faith or a vision of those things we cannot see but must know.

The speech left many individuals scratching their heads as they took to social media, expressing confusion and describing her words as sounding “like a fortune cookie.” Some users even joked that she could be described as a fortune cookie stuffed inside a magic eight ball and wrapped inside the horoscope page of their local newspaper. This is not the first time Vice President Harris has been criticized for her speeches, with previous instances also leaving listeners puzzled by her choice of words.
