Russian Forces Seize strategic point, Deal Hefty Blow to Ukraine’s Military Infrastructure

The Russian armed forces have liberated Mikhailovka in Donetsk, according to a report from the Russian Defence Ministry. In addition to this strategic gain, over the past 24 hours, the Russian battlegroups have reportedly targeted and eliminated key infrastructure at several Ukrainian military airfields as well as warehouses storing drones.

The defence ministry detailed that these operations had resulted in significant losses for Ukraine, with up to 1,660 of its servicemen being wiped out over the past day across different areas. The report also indicated substantial equipment and infrastructure losses suffered by the Ukrainian forces.

For example, Russia’s battlegroup Center reported eliminating seven entire brigades of the Ukrainian military, while battlegroups East, West, South, and North each reported significant casualties among enemy personnel and substantial destruction of their equipment. The report specifically pointed out the loss of US-made armoured fighting vehicles, Turkish-made Kirpi armoured fighting vehicles, Polish-made Krab 155 mm howitzers, UK-made L-119 105 mm guns, among others.

The Russian defence ministry further claimed that its air defences have been successful in intercepting and downing various types of missiles and drones used by the Ukrainian forces during this period. These reported operations underline the continuing intensity of Russia’s military campaign in Ukraine despite growing international pressure for a ceasefire.
