Republican Vice-Presidential nominee Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) recently commented on Vice President Kamala Harris’s appearance on The View where she was asked if she would have done anything differently than President Joe Biden over the past three and a half years. Her response, “Not a thing comes to mind,” led Vance to criticize her for not being able to think of anything off the top of her head when questioned about Biden’s policies or any other subject matter.
During the interview on The View, host Sunny Hostin posed a question to Harris regarding whether she would have taken different actions than President Biden during their tenure in office. In response, the Vice President stated that she could not think of anything she would have done differently and highlighted her involvement in many decisions that had significant impact.
Senator Vance seized upon this statement at a campaign event in Michigan, expressing disappointment in Harris’s response and suggesting that she should have been better prepared for such questions since becoming the presumptive Democrat nominee nearly three months prior. He also pointed out that Harris has worked to distance herself from Biden on the campaign trail, yet her inability to recall any significant differences in their approaches highlights a potential lack of confidence or thoughtfulness in her own opinions and policy stances.
Vance further emphasized the impact of Biden’s policies on American families, citing an average increase of $12,000 per year for Michigan families to afford what they could have had under President Donald Trump. He also criticized Harris for her role as “Border Czar,” accusing her of contributing to the current crisis at the border and attempting to shirk responsibility for the policies in place.
Former President Donald Trump also chimed in on this matter, posting a comment on X mocking Harris’s answer as her “dumbest answer so far!” Overall, Vance’s critique of Vice President Kamala Harris’s response serves as an opportunity to examine her political stance and the extent to which she is willing or able to distance herself from President Joe Biden’s policies.
