Over 200 retired military generals and admirals have endorsed former President Donald Trump, highlighting his ability to provide safety and security to the United States. The group, Flag Officers 4 America, stated that Trump has demonstrated a successful track record in fulfilling the fundamental responsibilities of a US president – protecting national security, domestic safety, and the constitution.
Flag Officers 4 America added that under President Joe Biden’s administration, the nation has become increasingly insecure with its citizens unsafe due to the ongoing cultural war being waged across America. This strife, they argue, is allowing foreign adversaries to take advantage of the political and social disorder plaguing the country.
This letter comes amid a series of domestic and international crises that have challenged the Biden-Harris administration. Hurricane Ida ravaged cities across the southeast, leaving more than 150 people dead and hundreds still missing. President Joe Biden visited his beach home in Rehoboth Beach during the hurricane and returned to Washington D.C., after it had passed. Vice President Kamala Harris was campaigning in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas and also returned to D.C. only after the hurricane had died down. Some affected residents reported receiving no help from the government, with citizens stepping in to deliver aid.
Former President Donald Trump visited Georgia, bringing supplies and meeting with affected residents. He also started a GoFundMe campaign that has raised over $3.2 million as of Tuesday. A strike by port workers also threatens to disrupt shipments of consumer goods and spike inflation.
On Tuesday, the world appeared on the brink of a new major war in the Middle East, with Iran launching hundreds of missiles at Israel. Israel vowed revenge, and this follows nearly a year of war between Israel and Hamas after Hamas launched a terrorist attack against Israel, killing 1,200 people and kidnapping around 200, including Americans. During this time, Iranian-backed Houthi fighters have fired hundreds of missiles and drones at U.S. and international ships in the Red Sea.
The retired flag officers endorsing Trump argue that he is a “proven leader who will secure our border, repulse our adversaries, revitalize our economy, and keep America safe and strong.” They list several policies they believe have put the country into a perilous situation, including open borders, economic inflation, and concerns about the physical and mental condition of President Joe Biden.
The letter stands in stark contrast to one signed by more than 700 members of the deep state endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris. Those signing that letter spent very little space explaining why she was good for national security and more space arguing why they believed Trump was a threat. Some of those signatories had previously signed a letter falsely asserting that the Hunter Biden laptop was a Russian disinformation operation, which led to the suppression of media coverage of it right before the 2020 election.
The retired flag officers endorsing Trump call this election arguably “the most important…since our Nation was founded.” They argue that the country is at a historic crossroads where they must choose between standing for their constitution and its traditional values or continuing down the path of socialism and authoritarian cultural Marxism under President Joe Biden’s administration.
