Trump’s Peacemaking Legacy: How Diplomacy Saved Us from Conflict

Former Vice Presidential nominee Senator JD Vance has claimed in a recent debate that no major global conflicts broke out during the Trump administration, which started with former President Donald Trump’s inauguration in January 2017 and ended when he left office in January 2021. This assertion has been verified as true, as Trump did not start any new wars or engage in any significant military actions while in office. In contrast to the tumultuous years under the Bush, Obama, and Biden administrations, where large conflicts like the War on Terror, the Arab Spring, and the war in Ukraine began, the Trump administration’s focus on diplomacy helped maintain relative peace on the global stage.

During a discussion about the Iranian-Israeli conflict, Vance criticized the Biden-Harris administration for the ongoing unrest in the Middle East. In response to Governor Waltz’s claims that Trump was responsible for the current situation, Vance pointed out that Vice President Kamala Harris had been serving during this time. Vance emphasized the importance of smart diplomacy and peace through strength as key factors in bringing stability back to a world rife with conflict.

The senator also highlighted the fact that the last time an American president did not have a major conflict break out during their term was during Trump’s four years in office, which ended on January 20, 2021. Vance cited his own age as evidence of this historical anomaly, noting that he is 40 years old and has never experienced such a peaceful period in American presidential history before the Trump administration. This unique achievement showcases the effectiveness of diplomacy and strong leadership in maintaining global peace and stability during an otherwise turbulent time.
