McCormick Calls Out Casey for Negative Tactics: A Focus on Facts over Attacks

Pennsylvania Republican Senate nominee Dave McCormick recently criticized Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA), stating that he does not have a substantial record to run on after nearly two decades in the U.S. Senate, therefore resorting to negative attacks during their debate. McCormick accused Casey of constantly launching personal attacks against him throughout the campaign to cover up his lack of achievement while in office.

McCormick highlighted that Casey has focused more on attacking him instead of discussing policies and presenting a clear vision for the future, which is expected from an experienced incumbent. In response to this pattern, McCormick created a website called Caseylies.com, where viewers can find factual information by third-party sources debunking various claims made by Casey about topics such as the cost of living, taxes, protecting social security, and more.

The candidates were also asked their stance on Israel policy during the debate. McCormick stated that while he would not currently send troops to support Israel, it is crucial for the U.S. to provide unwavering support to the country as it faces significant threats from groups like Hamas. He criticized Casey for being “the deciding vote” on a funding decision that gave Iran $100 billion in sanctioned money, which has been used to fund terrorism.

Casey responded by stating that there is no specific “red line” for him regarding Israel and emphasized that the process of declaring war and debating in Congress should take place before any troops are sent to the region. Overall, McCormick’s criticisms highlight a pattern of negative attacks from Casey, which some argue is an attempt to distract from his lack of substantial policy achievements during his time in office.
