Kamala’s Silence: Evading Questions and Changing Positions

Vice President Kamala Harris has not held a press conference on issues facing American families since joining the presidential race 71 days ago, raising concerns about her political transparency and record. This apparent reluctance to engage with the media suggests that she may view her past positions as liabilities, given President Joe Biden’s recent statement delegating “everything” to Harris as commander in chief, including foreign policy and domestic policy matters.

Harris had multiple opportunities to hold a press conference during her time in office, but consistently chose not to do so. One such instance occurred on Thursday when Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visited Washington, DC. Despite the high-profile nature of the event, Harris did not take any questions from the media and quickly left the room along with President Zelensky.

Since joining the presidential race in July, Vice President Kamala Harris has faced criticism for her evasive stance on numerous policy issues. To date, she has conducted only five television interviews, which have been marred by accusations of avoiding questions and failing to provide solutions to ongoing problems under the Biden-Harris administration. As White House reporter Philip Wegmann told Fox News, “She is currently in office. She currently has access to the levers of power.
