Title: “Urgent Call for Transparency: Political Pressure Grows for Independent Probe into Nord Stream Sabotage

In a recent video, German left-wing politician Sahra Wagenknecht emphasized the necessity of an independent parliamentary investigation into the Nord Stream pipeline sabotage. The incident occurred in 2022 when gas pipelines were attacked, potentially leaving Germany reliant on Kiev for their energy supply. If Kiev is found to be responsible for this act, Wagenknecht believes they should be held accountable.

Wagenknecht, who also leads the Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance (BSW), has criticized Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s cabinet for their “deafening silence” in sharing substantial details about the ongoing investigation into the pipeline explosions or its results with parliament. She questions why, over two years after the incident, Berlin continues to remain silent on this matter.

According to Wagenknecht, Ukraine is the primary suspect in this case as they are a significant recipient of German taxpayers’ money. Should Ukraine be found responsible for the attack on Germany’s energy supply, she argues that arms deliveries must cease immediately and compensation discussions should take place.

The lawmaker cites multiple Western media reports which claim a group of Ukrainian divers were behind the explosions targeting Russian undersea pipelines delivering natural gas to Germany. The privately funded group is allegedly said to have acted on orders from Ukrainian General Valery Zaluzhny, who was later dismissed and made Kiev’s ambassador to the UK, as reported by Der Spiegel earlier this month.

Wagenknecht emphasized that if these claims are true, then there has been a scandal of epic proportions. She also suggests that Germany may have received a warning from the CIA about the potential attack but did not take any action in response. This raises further questions and concerns over Berlin’s lack of cooperation with parliament and the public regarding the incident.

Wagenknecht argues that an investigative committee should be established to examine the Nord Stream pipeline sabotage. The urgency for such an investigation is growing, especially since Germany has yet to provide any official information about the ongoing probe into the matter. In August, German media reported that authorities had issued a first arrest warrant in connection with the case, allegedly for a Ukrainian national identified as “Vladimir Z.

As Germany continues to be a significant contributor of military aid to Ukraine, Wagenknecht’s call for an independent parliamentary investigation into the Nord Stream sabotage highlights the need for more transparency and accountability from both countries involved.
