Trump Leads in Key Swing States, Narrowly Tied with Kamala

A recent Rasmussen poll has indicated that former President Donald Trump is narrowly leading in the crucial swing state of Arizona, while being tied with Vice President Kamala Harris in the equally vital state of Wisconsin. The survey, conducted among 1,030 likely voters in Arizona and 1,071 likely voters in Wisconsin, both had a +/- 3 point margin of error.

The polls showed Trump leading Kamala Harris in Arizona by two points, with 49 percent to her 47 percent, while in Wisconsin, the two were tied at 49 percent each. According to Rasmussen, the economy is the top issue for voters in both states, with 33 percent of likely voters in Arizona and 29 percent in Wisconsin naming it as most important. In Arizona, border security (22 percent) is the second most crucial issue, followed by abortion (15 percent. In contrast, border security and abortion were tied as the second-most important issue in Wisconsin, each with 17 percent.

The polls also provided interesting insights into the respective states’ U.S. Senate races that could sway towards either party, leading to a more united or divided government. In Arizona, Democrat Ruben Gallego holds a two-point lead over Republican and Trump-endorsed Kari Lake. Meanwhile, in Wisconsin, incumbent Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D) leads Republican Eric Hovde by four points.

Pennsylvania remains one of the toughest battleground states for the former president, along with Michigan and Georgia. A recent Spotlight PA/MassINC poll showed that Vice President Kamala Harris leads by five points in the crucial swing state of Pennsylvania. According to The Hill, Harris has 49 percent support in the poll compared to Trump’s 44 percent. The polling results have a margin of error at 4.0 percentage points with a 95 percent level of confidence, including the design effect. Polling averages from The Hill/Decision Desk HQ show Harris with a 1.2 percentage point advantage in the state, leading Trump by less than one percentage point.

Despite these numbers, Breitbart News reported on Monday that a recent New York Times poll put the former president ahead of Kamala Harris in the sun belt states of Georgia, North Carolina, and Arizona. As the election season unfolds, it is clear that the race for key swing states will remain fiercely contested between Trump, Harris, and other candidates vying for support from voters across the United States.
