The Democrat Mayor of Hamtramck City, Ameer Ghalib, has publicly endorsed former President Donald Trump as the “right choice” during a “critical time.” In a Facebook post on Sunday, Ghalib admitted that he and Trump “may not agree on everything,” but acknowledged that Trump is a “man of principles.
Ghalib began by stating his endorsement for Trump: “President Trump and I may not agree on everything, but I know he is a man of principles. Though it’s looking good, he may or may not win the election and be the 47th president of the United States, but I believe he is the right choice for this critical time.” He went on to say that no matter what the outcome of the election is, he will “not regret” his decision and added that he is “ready to face the consequences.
On Saturday, Ghalib spoke with Breitbart News Washington Bureau Chief Matthew Boyle during an interview on Breitbart News Saturday. He mentioned having a “productive meeting” with Trump last week, where they discussed the changing political landscape in Wayne County, which had previously been a stronghold for the Democrats. Ghalib also highlighted Trump’s commitment to “end the chaos in the Middle East.
The “uncommitted” movement, which began in Michigan and saw over 100,000 voters cast their vote as “uncommitted” during the 2020 presidential election, has been critical of President Joe Biden’s handling of the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas. A recent report found that a large portion of the “uncommitted” movement in Michigan will not be supporting Vice President Kamala Harris for president.
