Record-Breaking Night: Trump’s Historic ‘Gutfeld!’ Interview Dominates Ratings

Fox News’s “Gutfeld!” made history as it drew in almost five million viewers during its interview with former President Donald Trump on Wednesday, according to a press release from the network. This marks the highest-rated telecast ever for the show. In addition to the impressive total viewership, the program attracted 744,000 viewers within the coveted “25-54” demographic. The show has also managed to capture the attention of more Independents and Democrats than its competitors, according to Nielsen MRI Fusion data.

The interview with Trump marked his first late-night appearance since a 2016 interview with NBC’s “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.” The show easily outperformed the debuts of CBS’s “Survivor” and ABC’s “The Golden Bachelorette,” which attracted 4.7 million and 2.8 million viewers, respectively.

This achievement for “Gutfeld!” comes amidst a tense period in Trump’s life. In recent months, he has experienced two assassination attempts. The latest incident occurred on Sunday when Ryan Wesley Routh was arrested after allegedly pointing an AK-style rifle through a fence near the Trump International Golf Course, where Trump had been playing golf. Upon spotting the barrel of the rifle sticking through the fence, Secret Service agents opened fire, prompting Routh to flee the scene.

During the interview on “Gutfeld!”, host Greg Gutfeld inquired about Trump’s golf game, to which the former president humorously responded that golf is a “dangerous game.
