According to reports from Breitbart News, a U.S. Secret Service agent engaged with an individual who had an AK-47-style rifle with a scope and backpacks as well as a Go-Pro camera. The agent fired at the individual, who then fled in a black Nissan vehicle. A witness saw the suspect fleeing and took photos of the vehicle along with its license plate. Law enforcement was able to catch up with the man and take him into custody on I-95 in Martin County, Florida.
Reactions poured in on social media as people expressed their relief that Trump is safe and well following this reported second attempt on his life. Senate hopeful Kari Lake said she prayed for comfort for Trump and his family after the attempted assassination and hopes for an end to demonization of the former president and his movement, stating it’s time to unite as Americans and restore him to the Oval Office.
