Former President Donald Trump is set to hold Vice President Kamala Harris accountable for her record during his appearance at the upcoming debate, according to Karoline Leavitt, the national press secretary for Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign. Speaking on Breitbart News Saturday, Leavitt highlighted the significant aspects of Harris’s history that she will have to defend.
Leavitt emphasized that President Trump is prepared to hold Harris accountable for her actions as Vice President alongside Joe Biden and her time as District Attorney in San Francisco and California’s Attorney General. She expressed concern that Harris might not be adequately prepared, especially since she has not participated in any solo interviews or press conferences in the nearly 50 days since becoming the Democrat Party’s nominee.
Leavitt criticized Harris for attempting to moderate her overall persona just before the election, deceiving people into believing she is a moderate Democrat when, in reality, she is the most far-left nominee the Democratic party has ever seen. As evidence of this, Leavitt pointed out that Harris was voted the most liberal senator in the United States and consistently supports policies like a fracking ban, which would devastate more than 100,000 jobs in Pennsylvania, lead to increased inflation, and raise the cost of living.
Another concerning policy supported by Harris is the elimination of cash bail for violent criminals, as well as her role in overseeing a border crisis that has led to nearly 20 million undocumented individuals entering the United States. Leavitt warned that this would only continue if Kamala Harris becomes president, with a focus on turning America into a sanctuary for criminals and undocumented immigrants while putting tax-paying, law-abiding Americans last.
In addition to outlining Harris’s policies, Leavitt highlighted Trump’s preparation for the debate, noting that he has participated in hours-long podcast interviews with hostile hosts who are not fans of his, allowing him to be well-prepared for any question. Trump plans to use this debate as an opportunity to highlight his administration’s successes, such as securing the border, low inflation rates, record-low mortgage rates, and achieving peace around the world.
