SAVE Act: The Bold Stand on Voting Rights and U.S Citizenship

LAS VEGAS, Nevada — Republican Senator Rick Scott of Florida has spoken out on the issue of proof of citizenship for voting in U.S. elections, asserting that Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) would bear the responsibility if a government shutdown occurs as a result of his refusal to allow a vote on the SAVE Act. This proposed legislation requires documentary evidence of American citizenship for registration in federal elections.

According to Breitbart News, Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA) is considering incorporating the SAVE Act into a stopgap spending bill that must be signed by September 30 in order to maintain the operation of the federal government. Senator Scott informed Breitbart News that he believed Johnson had sufficient support in the House for this move, stating, “I think he has the votes.

When questioned about potential risks to Republicans in the event of a government shutdown prior to the presidential election, Senator Scott posited that if Schumer were to permit a shutdown over the issue of non-citizens voting, it would be the Democrats who would suffer. This assessment aligns with Breitbart News’ earlier reporting on Senator Scott’s Democratic opponent in the forthcoming Florida U.S. Senate election, Debbie Mucarsel-Powell, who has declined to take a stance against unauthorized immigrants participating in American elections.

She’s a socialist,” Senator Scott told Breitbart News. She won’t talk about the border; she won’t talk about Israel; she won’t talk about antisemitism; she won’t talk about anything.

A former governor of Florida, Senator Scott is currently seeking re-election to a second term in office. In addition to discussing election security and voting rights, he also touched on the ongoing situation in Israel during his appearance at the Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC) annual leadership meeting. Senator Scott assured reporters that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was doing everything possible to secure the release of hostages, in contrast to recent claims made by President Joe Biden.
