Trump Narrowly Leads Harris in Latest Michigan Poll; AARP and Reuters/Ipsos Surveys Also Show Tight Race

Former President Donald Trump has taken a narrow lead over Vice President Kamala Harris in Michigan, according to a recent poll conducted between August 26-August 29. The WDIV/Detroit News poll discovered that 44.7% of “likely voters” in the state supported Trump, while 43.5% backed Harris.

The same poll also revealed that 4.7% of voters supported former independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., with 2.3% expressing their support for a third-party candidate and 4.8% remaining undecided. These figures indicate a slight shift in voter preference since the previous ActiVote poll conducted between July 28-August 28, which found that 50.1% of “likely” voters supported Harris, while Trump had garnered 49.9% support for president.

An AARP poll, conducted between August 7-8, also revealed a tight race in Michigan, with Trump leading Harris, 45% to 43%, and Kennedy receiving six percent of the vote. Green Party candidate Jill Stein and independent left-wing presidential candidate Cornel West were both tied at one percent.

A Reuters/Ipsos survey also found that Trump was leading Harris in seven key battleground states, including Wisconsin, Georgia, Arizona, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Michigan, and Nevada. In these closely contested states from the 2020 election, the former president held a narrow lead of 45% to 43% over Harris.

Among “definite voters” in the WDIV/Detroit News poll, 45.7% expressed their support for Vice President Kamala Harris, while 44.1% supported Trump. Another 3.9% of voters expressed support for Kennedy, and 2.3% showed their backing for a third-party candidate. A total of 3.9% were still undecided in this group.

These latest polls indicate that the presidential race between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris remains close in Michigan and other key battleground states, with both candidates continuing to gain traction among voters.
