The Labor Department announced in late August that it would be revising the job numbers from spring 2023 to spring 2024 downward by 818,000 jobs. This significant revision contradicts the narrative pushed by Democrats that Biden and Harris are economic saviors.
Vance stated that Democrats have been caught in a lie regarding the economy. They are actively lying—at least they were—six weeks ago, remember their argument was ‘Joe Biden’s economy is really good which is why you should reelect Joe Biden,’” Vance told Breitbart News. Now, however, the narrative has changed, with Democrats claiming that the economy is terrible and Kamala Harris is a change agent. This quick shift in messaging suggests that the previous argument about the economy being good was not effective.
Senator Vance believes that the public can see through this misinformation from Harris and her allies like Biden. When the job numbers have to be revised downward by 900,000 jobs, it indicates that Americans don’t believe these statistics. Instead, they are witnessing rising prices and increased difficulty in securing middle-class jobs and sending their children to decent schools. These negative trends can be attributed to Kamala Harris’ actions as vice president, which is why Vance supports reelecting Donald Trump.
As Biden prepares to join Harris on the campaign trail this Labor Day, it remains to be seen how effective their efforts will be in changing public perception about their economic policies and performance.
