Vice President Kamala Harris Addresses Policy Flip Flops Amid Campaign Aide Allegations: Values Unchanged

Vice President Kamala Harris recently stated that her values have not changed amid allegations of policy flip flops by anonymous campaign aides in a CNN interview on Thursday. The aides claim that Harris altered four policy positions: fracking support, increased border funding, lack of requirement for people to sell their assault weapons back to the government, and no longer backing a single-payer health insurance program.

Neither Kamala Harris nor her campaign aides have yet to publicly confirm these changes in policy. This has led to doubts about Harris’s true positions on various issues. CNN’s Dana Bash asked about the alleged policy shifts, to which Harris responded, “The most important and significant aspect of my policy perspective and decisions is that my values have not changed.

Harris used the Green New Deal as an example, stating that she has always believed in the urgency of addressing climate change. She mentioned the Inflation Reduction Act, which established goals for reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the United States and around the globe by certain deadlines. That value has not changed,” she affirmed.

The Trump campaign announced on Thursday that Harris’s first interview would last only 18 minutes, with CNN releasing no full transcript of the prerecorded sit-down conversation. The report suggests that American voters will receive less than 18 minutes of Harris explaining her alleged policy shifts, such as fracking. Additionally, Gov. Tim Walz will be accompanying Harris and taking away some time from her response, a move largely criticized by Republicans.

By not releasing the transcript, it appears that CNN may attempt to cover up any gaffes or word salads that Harris or Walz might deliver during the interview. Critics have expressed concerns that CNN could edit the pre-taped interview in order to fix any mistakes or errors made by either of them. The network has been accused of having a known bias against former President Donald Trump.
