Trump Leads Harris in Key Battleground State: Poll Suggests Close Race in Pennsylvania

Former President Donald Trump is leading Vice President Kamala Harris in Pennsylvania according to a recent poll by Insider Advantage on the eve of the Democratic National Convention (DNC. The survey, conducted between August 18 and 19, 2024 among 800 likely voters with a ±3.5 percent margin of error, showed Trump ahead by just one point with 47 percent to Harris’s 46 percent.

The poll comes as the former president prepares to launch a major campaign in key battleground states such as Pennsylvania. The Trump campaign is reportedly going all out against the Kamala campaign, highlighting her poor policy decisions made over the last four years. She can’t hide from her radical record,” stated an anonymous Trump campaign official.

Trump’s campaign is focusing on economic and energy policies to draw a contrast with Harris’s stances on these major issues. The former president will tour a factory in York, Pennsylvania, alongside his former U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer, while his running mate Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) will visit another factory in Philadelphia.

On Tuesday, Trump and Vance plan to focus on crime issues in Michigan and Wisconsin respectively, highlighting the surge in crime that has occurred under the Democrats’ watch. Trump will appear with several sheriffs at Livingston County Sheriff’s Office in Howell, Michigan, while Vance will visit the Kenosha County Courthouse in Kenosha, Wisconsin, to discuss how the radical left incited violence and destroyed properties in 2020.

Pennsylvania is one of the most contested races in the upcoming election, with its 19 electoral votes making it a crucial state for both parties. Trump won Pennsylvania against Hillary Clinton during the 2016 election but lost to Joe Biden in 2020. Alongside Pennsylvania, key states such as Michigan, Wisconsin, and Arizona will also be closely watched by political analysts leading up to the November election.
