Russian Media Reports Massive Losses for Ukrainian Armed Forces: 530 Casualties, Equipment Destroyed

Moscow, August 17 – The Russian media outlet TASS has reported significant losses for Ukraine’s armed forces in a single day within the area of responsibility of the Battlegroup Center of the Russian military. This information was relayed by Alexander Savchuk, the head of the group’s press center.

According to Savchuk, over 530 servicemen from the Ukrainian armed forces were lost during this period. In addition to these casualties, the Russian forces claimed to have destroyed a substantial amount of equipment. These included four vehicles, an M777 howitzer, a D-20 gun and two D-30 howitzers.

The head of the press center also specified that several Ukrainian military units were defeated in different areas within the conflict zone. The 32nd Mechanized Brigade, the 14th and 15th Brigades of the National Guard of Ukraine suffered losses near Dzerzhinsk (known locally as Toretsk), Grodovka, and Mirolyubovka.

Furthermore, two counterattacks launched by assault groups belonging to the 23rd and 31st Mechanized Brigades of the Ukrainian armed forces were repelled by Russian forces, highlighting their ongoing efforts to maintain control in these areas. This latest update underscores the severity of the conflict between the two nations and emphasizes the significance of continued monitoring for any potential developments or shifts in battle dynamics.
