Trump’s Finance: Bibles, Golf Courses & Crypto, While Harris’ Portfolio Stays Clean

Republican presidential candidate and former U.S. President Donald Trump has made a significant amount of money from the sales of his customized edition of ‘The Greenwood Bible,’ which includes a handwritten chorus by country singer Lee Greenwood, retailing for $59.99. A limited edition version of the Bible featuring Trump’s personal signature is sold for $1,000 each.

According to Trump’s latest financial disclosure released by the Federal Election Commission, the Mar-a-Lago club and resort in Florida generated almost $57 million in income since his last financial report, while the Trump National Golf Club in New Jersey generated over $37 million in “golf-related revenue.

The former president also revealed that he owns up to $5 million worth of cryptocurrency, valuing his virtual Ethereum key holdings at between $1 million and $5 million. Initially dismissing cryptocurrencies as a scam, Trump has since argued in favor of the U.S. leading the industry, stating that if not, China will do so instead.

Trump’s disclosure also showed legal troubles in New York, which he has referred to as a politically motivated witch hunt, resulted in over $100 million in liabilities. Melania Trump earned over $330,000 from a licensing agreement to sell NFTs and received over $237,000 for a speaking engagement with Log Cabin Republicans in Florida in 2024.

Vice President Kamala Harris filed her 2023 disclosures in May, revealing that her investment portfolio consisted mostly of passively managed index funds. One member of CNBC’s Financial Advisor Council called it “the cleanest portfolio you’ll see in a politician,” asserting that there was no way for her to game the system.

The Harris disclosure also revealed she earned over $8,000 in royalties from a 2019 children’s picture book she authored and a smaller sum from her memoir ‘The Truths We Hold.’ She also reported receiving tickets to a Beyonce concert valued at more than $1,600 as a gift from “BeyoncĂ© Knowles-Carter” herself.
