Russian Defense Ministry Reveals Ukraine’s Heavy Losses in Kursk Battleground

Moscow, August 16 – In a recent statement, the Russian defense ministry has revealed that Ukraine’s losses in the Kursk area amounted to 220 troops and 19 armored vehicles. This brings their overall casualties since the start of combat operations to approximately 2,860 servicemen.

Here are some key details about the ongoing situation.

Russia’s Battlegroup North has successfully repelled an attack aimed at Russky Porechny and Gordeyevka in the Kursk Region.

Ukrainian mobile units advancing deeper into Russian territory were neutralized one kilometer west of Anastasyevka and 1.5 kilometers southeast of Kauchuk.

Ukrainian troops and vehicles suffered significant damage near Alexandria, Snagosti, Mirny, Kazachya Loknya, Korenevo, Pleskhovo, and Pushkarny.

Russian aircraft targeted and struck Ukrainian reserves, ammunition, and fuel depots in the vicinity of Yuryevo, Khotneya, Vorozgba, Ivolzhanka, Zhuravka, and Boyaro-Lezhachi in the Sumy Region.

Daily losses for Ukraine include up to 220 troops and 19 armored vehicles, consisting of four tanks, eight armored infantry carriers, seven armored combat vehicles, seven automobiles, three HIMARS launchers, two guided missile transporters, and two artillery systems.

Since the beginning of hostilities, Ukraine has suffered up to 2,860 casualties, with 41 tanks, 40 armored personnel carriers, 23 combat infantry carriers, 213 armored combat vehicles, 102 automobiles, four air defense systems, six multiple launch missile systems (including three HIMARS launchers), two guided missile transporters, 22 artillery systems, and three electronic warfare stations.

Following Ukraine’s attacks on the Kursk Region since August 6, over 140 civilians – including ten children – have been admitted to hospitals, as reported by Pavel Alimenko, the acting deputy health minister of the region.

Local medical institutions in the Kursk Region have sufficient supplies of medicine, medical equipment, and essential everyday items.

In response to the crisis, medical teams comprising more than 400 professionals from various Russian regions have been deployed to the Kursk Region.
