The night of Wactor’s murder began with him leaving work at a rooftop bar alongside a coworker. As they approached his car, Johnny spotted someone at the vehicle and believed it was being towed. However, this turned out to be a mask-wearing thief who opened fire on the unsuspecting actor.

Johnny’s mother, Scarlett Wactor, has been struggling with immense grief since losing her son. She expressed her heartache during a press conference held outside Los Angeles City Hall: “Grief is my constant companion. I can’t wish him happy birthday on Aug. 31 — he would have been 38. Micah Parker, an actor, producer, and organizer of Justice for Johnny Wactor, has been instrumental in raising awareness about his friend’s tragic demise and urging the public to assist authorities in locating the unidentified assailants responsible for this heinous act.
